GENEVA, March 16 (Xinhua) -- The 51st International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva concluded on Sunday in Switzerland, with the Chinese delegation impressing both visitors and judges with a diverse and innovative showcase of over 200 inventions, 90 of which won the gold medal.
This year, the Chinese delegation organized 237 invention projects across 212 booths, marking the largest scale. The exhibited achievements mainly focused on fields such as environmental protection, renewable energy, electronics, medicine, construction and transportation. Notably, projects in software, cybersecurity, blockchain and the Internet of Things saw significant growth, reflecting emerging trends and new characteristics across industries.
Gold medal-winning projects spanned various sectors, wowing global visitors. The "New type of 600 km/h high-speed maglev train and its test and validation platform" achieved innovations in high-speed bogies without rockers and lightweight car bodies with high strength and rigidity.
An AI-based early warning system for power supply security has significantly enhanced the power grid's adaptability to high-proportion renewable energy integration and improved its safety pre-control capabilities.
Inventions such as the "Efficient Film and Television Production Vehicle" and the "AI-Enhanced Ultra-Remote Safe Surgical Teleoperation System with Multimodal Safety Feedback" also impressed audiences by addressing challenges in culture and healthcare. The remote surgical robot system has completed more than 700 operations, including cross-continental liver surgeries.
Lin Songtao, representative of the Chinese delegation to the International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva, noted that the 2026 exhibition projects present a dual-wheel drive pattern with AI empowering various industries and life health taking center stage. AI has deeply penetrated areas such as compliance inspections, energy materials, and construction testing, while the life health sector has seen remarkable growth.
Lin said that over the years, overseas audiences' perception of Chinese innovation has evolved beyond mere curiosity and that they have come to realize that Chinese innovation is no longer simply about manufacturing, but about addressing real-life challenges and bringing tangible convenience to everyday life.
Caroline Simonet, director of this year's exhibition, said the projects presented by the Chinese delegation were of high quality, highly creative and technically rigorous, demonstrating China's firm commitment to innovation.
The International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva is one of the longest-running and largest invention exhibitions in the world. This year's five-day event featured over 1,000 invention projects from 35 countries and regions, showcasing innovative achievements across different fields and industries.
