MADRID, Spain: Police in northeastern Spain arrested the son of Isak Andic, the billionaire founder of Mango, on May 19. He is suspected of being involved in his father's death.
Isak Andic, 71, died in December 2024 after falling about 150 meters from a cliff while hiking with his son near Barcelona.
His son, Jonathan Andic, 45, was the only witness. Police first investigated and then closed the case, but reopened it in March 2025. By October, they said the death could be a possible murder.
Jonathan Andic was taken to court in Martorell, where the case is being handled, according to Catalan police. Officials did not share more details because the case is confidential.
Jonathan is the eldest of Andic's three children and a vice chairman at Mango, one of Spain's largest retailers.
Isak Andic moved from Turkey to Spain when he was young. He opened the first Mango store in Barcelona in 1984 and later grew it into a major fast-fashion brand.
Today, Mango has about 2,900 stores in 120 markets worldwide. In 2025, the company made nearly 3.8 billion euros in revenue, up 11 percent from the year before.
